Happy 3rd Birthday Emma!

Monday was Emma's 3rd birthday. I can't believe it has been 3 years since she came into our lives. Jacob and Beth convinced her that she wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese for her special day. Of course, Emma is scared to death of any person dressed up as a character, so she stayed as far away from the mouse as possible. I think she finally waved to him from across the room at the end of the night. She was so proud of herself. She had a great night and got a doll, barbies and dress up clothes. What a happy girl!

Last Day of Baseball

Hallelujah! While we have enjoyed this season, I am glad that it is over. Jacob's team continually got better, yet a win alluded us all season. Jacob wanted a mowhawk for the tournament game and we said that he could have it. The only catch was that it had be cut off for church. Jacob loved it! He scored a run during his last game so we closed out the season on a high note. Next up, basketball season!

Lake Winnepesaukah

We went to Lake Winnie with the girl scouts for our last hoorah yesterday. Mickey grew up near this amusement park and has wanted to go for some time. The skies were overcast and the temperature was not going past 85. I couldn't have asked for a better day. I was unsure how Emma would do on the rides, but she turned out to be a huge thrill seeker. She loved an elephant ride, the scrambler and a mini swing ride the most but she rode everything her height would allow. Jacob and Beth wanted to ride the old wooden roller coaster continuously. I thought we would never get Jacob out of the park. He loved it all. I had to promise them that we would go back later this summer. We only had one minor set back and that was that Emma got car sick right before we got to the park. Luckily, Mickey had brought a change of clothes and a new blankie for her. We had a blast! So if anyone wants to join us, we are probably going to go next month!

Beth's 3rd Grade Award Ceremony

Beth had a great year! This is her class during their award presentation. Beth got 3 awards including 'A' Honor Roll for the entire year. Before the ceremony, her class had an end of the year breakfast party. Beth loved that! After the ceremony, I told Beth that I would check her out of school early, and she insisted on staying at school. She wanted to help her teacher put things away. (Why doesn't she want to do that at home?) She is looking forward to 4th grade already.

Jacob's Kindergarten Graduation

Jacob had a great graduation ceremony tonight. I will try to upload some video later! :)

So, last night, we enjoyed Jacob's graduation. This was the first year that they had the graduation at night and the school administration did not expect the turn out that we had. While the kids were especially cute, the adults were not so hot! There were adults that talked (in full voice) the entire time.

But let me get back to the kids! They were the best! Jacob performed his songs so well and I loved every minute. I can't believe that he is growing up so quickly.

Have you ever had one of those days?

Last night, I was starting to make our dinner around 5. At 5:15, Mickey called to tell me that he wasn't sure when he would be home and to just eat without him. I am disappointed but will live. So I go to add the spaghetti sauce to my ground beef and guess what, no premade sauce. Yes, I live off of Ragu, Barilla, Prego or whatever is on sale type of sauce. So I do what I always do...I go to allrecipes and search a sauce recipe. Amazingly, I have all the ingredients so I head back to the kitchen to cook.

Well, I didn't realize that I had to simmer for an hour before it would be edible. Beth and Jacob come in and complain about being hungry for the millionth time. And I give in. Beth says that she will make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Jacob jumps on the bandwagon and wants one too. I would generally not let them make their own sandwiches but I was busy with my sauce. I still had hopes that someone would have a decent meal. They even made Emma a PB and J and she ate it...she never eats them when I make it. Beth and Jacob enjoyed their cooking so much, that they had 2 sandwiches each. I added some grapes to their dinner so I didn't feel too bad about the nutritional aspect of their dinner. I am starting to think that they should do the cooking now. :)

So by the time the sauce was finished around 7, I just put the it in the fridge for another day. Mickey and I had chicken salad on crackers for dinner. Hopefully tonight will be a little better!

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day this year. Mickey and the kids spoiled me all day. I don't think I lifted a finger all day. I wasn't allowed out of bed until Mickey and the kids made me a wonderful brunch. Yummy! Mickey also listened to my not so veiled hints and got me a purple Ipod shuffle and a mini sticker maker. Then we were off to church. We had wonderful speakers and the Young Women took over the primary so we could go to Relief Society. At the end, the bishopric served cake. Then Mickey made (and cleaned up) dinner. For dessert we ate the cake that Jacob made me at school. He was so proud of his creation. He put the purple dots and yellow line on the cake.
